New Style Pesto

This is a delicious vegan recipe that takes minutes to “Whizz up” and tastes amazing with an alternative pasta such as black bean spaghetti (pictured),  The hemp seeds are rich in protein and fat and replace the traditional pine nuts and the nutritional yeast is rich in B vitamins and replaces the parmesan cheese.  The sundried tomato and chilli is just for fun and makes this pesto seriously delicious!

New Style Pesto

This is Pesto variation is high protein and vegan

Servings: 4
Ingredients
  • 30g Fresh basil
  • 1 clove Garlic - crushed
  • 1/2 Red chilli
  • Juice 1 Lemon
  • 1/4 cup cold pressed extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp Himalayna Salt
  • 2 tbs Nutritional yeast
  • 2 tbs Hulled hemp seeds
  • 4 Sundried tomatoes
Instructions
  1. Put all the ingredients into a high speed blender or use a stick blender or mini food processor to whizz down into a pesto consistency - adding a little water to loosen the texture and salt or lemon to taste
